Hyundai is getting close to unveiling its new full-size SUV, the Hyundai Palisade. Its creators developed this large family-hauler alongside the Kia Telluride, and while it’s still in its testing phase, there are some things we know for certain about this new SUV — especially as spy shots continue to reveal more information.
We know that this will be a three-row, eight-seat SUV offering generous space for cargo and comfort for passengers.
We’re now a little more familiar with the details of its exterior. Spy shots revealed a big, bold front grille as well as headlights and fog lights mounted low on the front fascia. That particular design scheme calls to mind the 2019 Sante Fe, which leads many to believe that the interior of the Hyundai Palisade may have a lot in common with the Sante Fe, too.
Many experts in the auto industry have a good idea of what the Hyundai Palisade will have under its hood. We’re expecting to see it receive power from Hyundai’s 3.3-liter V6 engine paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission. The Hyundai Palisade will likely be offered with all-wheel drive, an option that will make it capable in all weather conditions.
We at Linwood Hyundai are excited for the release of the Hyundai Palisade, so we will be able to offer another great option from Hyundai for families like yours. While you’re waiting for the release of the Palisade, check out Hyundai’s current lineup of SUVs at Linwood Hyundai.
Car enthusiasts have even more reason to look forward to the release of Ant Man and the Wasp, as Hyundai has announced that it has teamed up with Marvel Studios to create a special edition 2019 Hyundai Veloster that will have a starring role in the film. Poised to be a smash hit, the quirky superhero movie sequel will feature Paul Rudd and an ant-sized version of a souped-up 2019 Veloster.
As Paul Rudd is already Hyundai’s celebrity spokesperson, it is fitting that he’ll make his fast getaways in the all-new Veloster in Ant Man and the Wasp. His car in the film—a special edition 2019 Veloster—was first on display at the 2018 North American International Auto Show earlier this year. It boasts a custom, flashy paint job, side-mounted custom exhaust, and a host of premium details.
The redesigned 2019 Hyundai Veloster will hit dealerships later this year, and while we can’t drive the same version of the sporty hatchback Ant Man does, the production version of the 2019 Veloster offers a lot of new design and technology features, including a potent turbocharged engine, advanced connectivity tools, and a stunning exterior design.
If you want to feel like the star of your own movie, drive the 2019 Veloster when it’s available this fall at Linwood Hyundai.
We couldn’t be more excited for the 2018 Hyundai Kona, an exciting new compact crossover. The Kona has distinct interior and exterior designs, an eco-friendly powertrain, and the latest technologies on the market. Built for the urban jungle as well as off-road trails, the revolutionary Hyundai Kona design is bound to impress a wide range of buyers.
According to Motor1, the Kona has much more personality than the slew of other compact crossovers that have hit the market recently, due in large part to the exterior and interior designs. There’s a distinct body look with black plastic cladding, multi-tiered lighting, and a so-called “rip-curl” C-pillar—a look that will especially appeal to a younger audience. Many unique paint colors are available to color the Kona in vivid ways.
The Kona seats five people, has up to 45 cubic feet of storage space with the seats down, and still offers 19.2 cubic feet of cargo room with the seats up.
Other great features on this model include the rugged versatility, low price, and optional all-wheel drive. The seven-speed dual clutch transmission will have no trouble handling high elevation, while the all-wheel-drive system can easily handle the terrain around Paducah, Benton, and Calvert City.
In short, if you’re looking for a capable crossover with all-around versatility, the Kona will satisfy your driving needs. You can find it at Linwood Hyundai.

In early March, the automotive industry gathered in Switzerland for the 88th Geneva Motor Show. This European event showcases some fantastic new models that will debut around the world, including here in the United States. This year, Hyundai unveiled the next-generation Santa Fe, its all-new Kona Electric car, and a concept called “Le Fil Rouge.”
The next-generation Hyundai Santa Fe comes with dynamic new styling, including an enlarged Cascading Grille. It will offer the newest Hyundai SmartSense active safety features to help make advanced technology available to everyone. The new Santa Fe will be available as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid.
With Le Fil Rouge concept, we get a glimpse of the future. Hyundai said this new concept showcases the future of its design language, which it called Sensuous Sportiness.
Along with its vehicles, Hyundai also showed off the Intelligent Personal Cockpit technology. This design shows how Artificial Intelligent, the Internet of Things, and driver stress detection can work together to create a vehicle that works with the driver in new ways.
“With all our innovative, cutting-edge technology solutions presented at the Geneva Motor Show, Hyundai is showcasing the future of mobility in a universal and holistic manner,” said Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, Vice President Marketing and Product at Hyundai Motor Europe.
There was a lot to see from Hyundai at the Geneva Motor Show, and if these highlights interest you, contact Linwood Hyundai to learn more about what Hyundai has in store.
When it comes to judging a car’s safety, there are a few ways to go about it. One of the best ways to get a feel for how well a vehicle’s safety system protects passengers is by checking ratings from reputable sources like the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The IIHS rates each vehicle by looking at how well it protects in a collision and by how well its safety features do to prevent an accident.
The organization uses a list of crash tests to examine how each vehicle reacts to collision. It recently added a new crash test, making it harder for vehicles to earn their highest safety award, the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. This new test examines how well the front passenger side is protected.
The 2018 Hyundai Elantra compact car successfully passed the test and secured the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ status. Previous model years only attained the next level title of IIHS Top Safety Pick.
This promotion is also thanks to the smart and available safety features on the 2018 Hyundai Elantra. The small car can be equipped with amenities like HID projector headlights and driver-assist features like an automatic emergency braking system.
Experience the extensive protective features of the new 2018 Elantra when you stop by Linwood Hyundai for a test drive.
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Perhaps you have already secured gifts for your significant other, but there is somebody else you might be forgetting—your car. Here are four ways to appreciate your car this holiday.
- Catch up on maintenance. Your car works hard for you, so return the favor by making sure it is in prime working condition. Get the oil changed and perform any other recommended maintenance.
- Pamper it. Winter roads are dirty and grimy. Give it a wash, then protect its shine with a thorough waxing. Don’t forget to clean out the interior.
- Check your tires. Take a look at your car’s tires. If the tread is running low or you see any cracks, it might be time to invest in new tires.
- Get new accessories. Whether your car is old or new, accessories can give it a fresh look. Purchase new chrome exhaust tips, upgrade your sound system, or incorporate another feature that you’ve been wanting for a while.
If you want to take care of your car this Valentine’s Day, Linwood Hyundai can help you out. Schedule a service appointment or stop by our parts department to find out more information about how you can care for your vehicle.
Two Hyundais—the 2018 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport—earned the IIHS’s TOP SAFETY PICK+ for earning scores of “Good” in five crashworthiness tests, earning a score of “Advanced” or “Superior” in front crash prevention, and a rating of “Good” for headlights. More impressive still, the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport were the only two vehicles in their segment to earn the honor.
“Hyundai was one of the leading brands for Top Safety Pick+ and Top Safety Pick awards in 2018,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of corporate and product planning at Hyundai Motor America, in a statement on the honors. “The safety of our customers and their loved ones is paramount in our thinking when we design new vehicles.”
Five other Hyundais—Hyundai Ioniq, Elantra, Elantra GT, Sonata, and Tucson—earned the TOP SAFETY PICK, just missing the additional +-mark with “Acceptable” headlight ratings. This is a testament to Hyundai’s commitment of making sure that its drivers and passengers can ride along with ease, knowing that their safety is a top priority.
“We raised the safety bar for 2018,” said Adrian Lund, IIHS president. “Now vehicles have to achieve an even higher level of safety. Our Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ awards help consumers zero in on the vehicles with the best overall performance for crash prevention and protection.”
These seven Hyundai vehicles are as reliable and safe as they are handsome to behold and fun to drive. Find out for yourself just what these and other Hyundai models get right by scheduling your test drive at Linwood Hyundai.
Hyundai recently made news by partnering with WaiveCar. In fact, WaiveCar made an appearance on the TV series “Shark Tank,” demonstrating the future of mobility. This eco-friendly technology caters to the everyday demands, offering drivers in Los Angeles a fleet of all-new Ioniq cars as part of a rental program.
According to Hyundai, the WaiveCar rental program lets drivers rent a car for up to two hours for free, with an additional $5.99 charge per hour of use. Basically, you can hop behind the wheel of an eco-friendly Hyundai Ioniq when you need a ride and return the car at your convenience. Not only does this system provide easy access to affordable driving options, but it may also reduce gridlock and harmful emissions.
As Hyundai’s press release articulates, “WaiveCar users […] have access to a fleet of all-new Ioniq electric and hybrid models. The Ioniq delivers an uncompromising design and driving experience coupled with the latest in safety and convenience technologies, as well as marking a major step in eco-focused driving.”
The “sharks” on “Shark Tank” were impressed with the concept in an episode that aired at the end of October. While WaiveCar is currently in its early stages, it may soon be an option available around the country. We at Linwood Hyundai Paducah can’t wait to see if the system comes to our area.
If you have a dog, chances are you’ve had to deal with the hassle of getting around in a less-than-dog-friendly vehicle at some point in your life. So, if you’re searching for that perfect car for dog lovers, look no further. The Hyundai Sonata has everything you and your furry companion need to get around in comfort and style.
Boasting superior comfort, design, and technology, it’s no wonder Kelley Blue Book named the 2017 Hyundai Sonata as one of the most awarded cars of the year. The 2018 model year extends upon the Sonata’s shining reputation. But it takes more than accolades to make a car perfectly accommodating for dogs.
The new Hyundai Sonata offers more interior volume than any other car in its class. With an outstanding 122.4 cubic feet of room, the Sonata has all the space you and your dog need to stay comfortable. Too kick things up a notch, you can opt for heated and ventilated front seats to enhance the driving experience no matter what the weather.
The Sonata was a 2017 Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS and the 2018 model year received a perfect 5-star overall safety rating thanks to an advanced suite of protective technologies to shield passengers (and their dogs) from roadside hazards.
